Hans–Ein Leben in Ordnung
«Hans» is a project dedicated to the phenomenon of self-documentation, a fundamentally human and everyday method of preserving memories and finding meaning. Memories are collected and physically recorded in the form of photographs and texts. Producing and selectively storing such artefacts makes it possible to construct a coherent narrative of one’s own life and to form an identity. The dialogue and the encounter with Hans Fischer provided an insight into this phenomenon. Based on his life and his collecting habits, the complexity of self-documentation is shown, also revealing how it has been shaped by personal biography.
