Learning Beyond Sight
Making scientific visualization more accessible to people with vision impairments
This project explores the potential for making visualisations more accessible to visually impaired people through a participatory design approach using virtual reality. The result is an embodied, audio-haptic infographic about the global water cycle and its links to extreme weather events. Ultimately, this experience can support multi-sensory, body-based learning and provide a new approach to experiencing visualisations that can be beneficial to all learners.
