The Sculptural Book – An Investigation on the Intersections between Sculpture and Book
«The Sculptural Book» deals with the physical characteristics of the book and presents them in the form of objects. The aim is to show the performative and sculptural qualities of books. This project explores ways of working with and transcending the traditional book form and concept. The research is grounded in and informed by sculpture theory. Concepts of recontextualisation and metaphor are used to merge sculpture and book in an epistemological and artisanal process.
