Whose Streets?!
Representation of Social Movements in Games
How are social movements represented in current games? This is the question at the heart of this Master’s thesis. Based on the analysis of different games, that representation emerges as somewhat one-sided and generally not very positive. It almost exclusively consists of protests which are often portrayed in very aggressive and unpolitical ways. To address this, design rules were developed specifically to promote a fairer and more balanced representation. In the game «Whose Streets?!» all these rules are applied to a political setting.
