Diploma project «Ring for Bling» at the Zurich Design Weeks 2025

Event

The Bachelor project «Ring for Bling» from the subject area Trends & Identity will be presented at the Zurich Design Weeks 2025.

Medea Laim, BA Majors Trends & Identity graduate, will present her diploma project «Ring for Bling» – a workshop service for intuitive and enjoyable jewellery design with friends – as part of the Zurich Design Weeks 2025 in the Newcomer section as one of five friends from outstanding Swiss design universities.

«With my diploma project, I deliberately went beyond the boundaries of my own discipline by combining mediation and trend analysis. This interdisciplinary approach proved productive because it enabled me to understand design not only as an aesthetic means, but also as a socially beneficial instrument.» – Medea Laim

«Ring for Bling»:
With your hands as tools, jewellery as the medium and flow as the goal, «Ring for Bling» offers a mindful counterpoint to the constant buzz of the digital world and provides space for tactile experiences, mental focus and the joy of creating. The workshop service can be seen as a constructive response to digital fatigue. With delivery by e-scooter, any place can be turned into a mini studio – whether it’s your favourite bar, a birthday party or the patch of grass down the street. From finger rings to all kinds of blingy things – whatever you can hold, you can mould. Ready to swap doomscrolling for wire-rolling? Then «Ring for Bling».
