Diploma projects nominated for the “Prix Europa – Student Award”
The Design Department is pleased to announce that two outstanding diploma projects from the subject area in “Cast / Audiovisual Media” have been nominated for the prestigious “Prix Europa – Student Award”.
The first of the two projects is entitled “misten, melken, managen” and was produced by Désirée Ottiger. The documentary provides an insight into the lives of four female farmers. At a time when farm work is exhausting, pressure on agriculture is increasing and society is asking critical questions about agriculture and environmental protection, the women tell what it truly means to run a farm and why they keep going despite the tough conditions. “misten, melken, managen” is a tribute to women farmers and an extraordinary insight into their everyday lives.
The second nominated project entitled “BERGLUST – BEYOND SUMMITS” is by Noemi Aeschlimann. The short documentary portrays the snowboarders Linda Schmitter and Simone Le Grand. It tells the moving story of how the two women reconcile their passion for freeriding with the demands of everyday life. In a society marked by professional stress, “BERGLUST – BEYOND SUMMITS” shows how you can still live your passion.
The “Prix Europa – Student Award” is a major media competition and festival that honours outstanding European productions in the fields of television, radio and digital media. The “Prix Europa” offers the opportunity to present the diploma projects to a broad European audience and to promote their visibility. The Department of Design congratulates Désirée and Noemi warmly on their nominations and wishes them good luck for the award ceremony.
