Hermès x ZHdK at Zurich Design Weeks

Exhibition

The collaboration between the ZHdK Department of Design and the French luxury brand Hermès is part of Zurich Design Weeks. Students from the Bachelor Majors Trends & Identity and Visual Communication were given the opportunity to design the window displays for the Hermès boutique on Zurich's Paradeplatz.

In a teaching project in March, six different concepts were developed around the theme of «L'esprit du Faubourg». Prior to this, the students went on a field trip to explore the spirit of the Hermès main building in the centre of Paris. The project «to lose yourself means to find yourself» by Jennifer Anger, Davide Iozzo and Clara Kuhnke was selected from the many imaginative and detailed proposals and was then realised by the students. Inspired by the iconic Carrés, the long history of Hermès can be playfully experienced at different levels in the two windows. The collaboration was accompanied by Rebecca Morganti-Pfaffhauser, Katharina Tietze and David Walsh.
