Five women from different generations speak about platonic relationships and ways of shaping a life. Their voices overlap to form a portrait of closeness, solidarity and expectation. Through memories and observations, friendships emerge within the context of social change, gender and evolving forms of relationships: as emotional anchors beyond romantic partnerships, the nuclear family and social norms. Friends appear as chosen kin – a central way of living that requires time, care and commitment. The film asks how we want to be there for one another and which relationships we choose to strengthen.
