«Volkstanzen für alle!» is a workshop format that brings traditional dances into new spaces, such as the queer-feminist space of Reitschule Bern. Currently, traditions are increasingly being co-opted by right-wing conservative and patriarchal forces to expand or reinforce structures of exclusion against certain groups. In contrast, «Volkstanzen für alle!» does not see traditions as something rigid, but as a living practice that is allowed – and meant – to change. This creates analogue spaces for encounter in a digitally dominated time.
