Feedback is a central component of design processes and design education. Nevertheless, many mentee–mentor situations are shaped by learned hierarchical patterns of behaviour—following the model of the master–apprentice teaching concept—and lead to a one-sided feedback culture. This work does not offer a universally valid recipe for correct feedback, but seeks to show alternative forms and perspectives. The developed mobile application makes design processes visible and supports the negotiation of goals and responsibilities within mentorships in order to further develop the didactic potential of feedback.
